For many years the company KEB and the Hauptschule Barntrup-Dörentrup are associated. Both parties act in concert when it comes to the topic of vocational orientation and training. In the past year KEB made a pact for the training with the Hauptschule, which defines the strategic goals of this cooperation. With this measurement KEB pursues the objective to counteract the rapidly growing shortage of skilled staff. With appropriate practice-related courses in form of additional educational opportunities and support by KEB, the Hauptschule wants to offer its students the best possible conditions and above all founded training for jobs with future prospects. The concept “Fit for Training” includes, apart from pure support measures like assistance in the search for a suitable internship, also individual counselling in preparing and developing individual career plans for the future as well as practical exercises to advance the social competence.

Now KEB has gained another important cooperation partner, namely the Städtische Gymnasium in Barntrup. In the past a sporadic and informal cooperation already existed. For instance KEB offered technophile students of the Robotic Project Group the attendance to the German Open 2011 in Magdeburg. Beginning of May the future-orientated cooperation between the Gymnasium and KEB was officially signed and sealed in the presence of representatives of the local press. This gives KEB the chance to establish ties with potential future students in the field of engineering at an early stage. For the Gymnasium the main focus lies on the practical training in electronics. In this connection a technology course focusing on electronics, robotics and informatics is being offered for the first time in the region Lippe. The necessary basic equipment for the first practical experiments in form of an experimental kit is sponsored by KEB. In addition the students gain a realistic insight into the working world at the KEB apprenticeship workshop. Important for both contractual partners are not the comprehensive contents of the cooperation agreement, but that the agreed upon cooperation is actually lived and put into practice.
